Long-Acting Silver Dressing Fights Microbes



The latest addition to the 3M Tegaderm line of dressings is the Tegaderm Ag Mesh dressing with silver. The gauze-like material provides an anti-microbial barrier that can be used on a variety of wounds for up to seven days. It is especially helpful for slow-healing wounds, according to the manufacturer. The dressing is available in five sizes, ranging from 2" x 2" to 16" x 16". 3M. Cordless Scale Makes Weigh-Ins Simple

Scale-Tronix's model 5002 Stand-On Scale has a return-to-zero feature that eliminates the need to adjust the settings—or wait for the scale to reset itself—after weighing a patient. The scale has a weight capacity of 880 pounds (400 kg).



The Stand-On Scale also has a weight recall feature that allows the user to revert to the last reading and a function that makes it easy to recheck a patient's weight. Clothes For Alzheimer's Patients: Easy To Put On, Hard To Take Off

Care Free Lounge Wear from Taketora USA was designed with an eye for patient safety and dignity, while also being convenient for caregivers.

The clothing line consists of jumpsuits, slippers, mitts, and bibs. The jumpsuit features a front zipper that opens from the bottom for toileting purposes, as well as a button that locks to prevent those with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia from undressing. It's made from cotton/poly twill and is available in blue and yellow in sizes ranging from small to 3X.



The mitts can be worn by patients with moderate to severe motor dysfunction as protection against injuring themselves or others. Free Infection Prevention Toolkit Targets Hospital Visitors



"Protect Our Patients" is a free educational toolkit you can use to educate hospital visitors on their role in infection prevention. It consists of posters, tabletop tent cards, and brochures to teach and reinforce basic hygienic guidelines while the patient is in the hospital and when he returns home.
