Hold the mayo

As a home health nurse, I recently visited a patient whose dressing supplies were almost nil. After thoroughly washing my hands, I noticed that there was no trash bag available, so I pulled one out of my nursing bag. Then I needed solution and gauze to cleanse the patient's wounds, so out they came, followed by sterile dry dressings to cover the wounds. Finally, I needed tape. As I searched for it in what must have seemed like a bottomless bag, the patient queried, "Do you have a ham and cheese sandwich in there, too?"
