Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne is expanding its master's program in nursing to include a teaching track, reported The Fort Wayne, IN, Journal Gazette. Classes, which begin this fall, will focus on curriculum design, instructional techniques, and evaluation, with a range of
NP specialty courses to be offered as well. The program is designed to address an increasing need for nurse educators.
The New York State Nurses Association is backing legislation that will make assaulting and injuring an on-duty RN or LPN a Class C felony, which is the penalty for assaulting police
and peace officers, firefighters, and EMTs. It's hoped this will increase reporting of violence, improve working conditions
and retention rates, and also dispel the notion that enduring such violence is just "part of the job."
